Are you against the FDIC? We've been "nationalizing" banks ever since 1935.

There are no nationalized banks. When they fail they are closed.

Here you go, and it's even from a trusted lefty. From michaelmoore.com:

Dodd Says Short-Term Bank Takeovers May Be Necessary

By Alison Vekshin

Feb. 20 (Bloomberg) -- Senate Banking Committee Chairman Christopher Dodd said banks may have to be nationalized for "a short time" to help lenders such as Citigroup Inc. and Bank of America Corp. survive the worst economic slump in 75 years.

"I don't welcome that at all, but I could see how it's possible it may happen," Dodd said today on Bloomberg Television's "Political Capital with Al Hunt" to be broadcast this weekend. "I'm concerned that we may end up having to do that, at least for a short time."

No where does he say specifically failing banks or exactly which banks (he only used the 2 biggest as an example) or if it's only a couple or several hence the big drop in financials yesterday.

And you'd think we'd have learned something.

Yeah, the history of bank runs before the FDIC is definitely something we should go back to.

Never mind. No sense debating before we've both had our Kool-Aid.

Do they actually believe they can nationalize the banks "for a short time" ?
Once it's nationalized..it's done. Is FNMA any better today then when they nationalized that ?
Is Amtrak any better today then when they nationalized that ?

No..they are subsidized to death..literally.

Nouriel Roubini, an economist who is a lot smarter than any of us, is in favor of "nationalization".

Hey woof, better than ropes and trees (I think the secret service would disapprove) I'd like to see something along the lines of a million man march only with pitchforks and torches!
Just think, at dusk we all meet in front of the Whitehouse or better yet Congress with torches lit and pitchforks held up letting 'em know John/Jane Q Public is not amused, not one little bit and we've had just about enough. Don't you think that'd make the news?
Oh, I don't think the Secret Service would approve of torches and pitchforks either! No matter how much they let the rest of the country get out of control, they aren't going to let armed angry mobs get near the Pres and Congress .... but they are getting a bit anxious anyway.
