Crocs auditor questions shoe maker's viability - Local business- msnbc.com

Heheh. I'd give a dollar to know what product or service you were thinking of before you clicked this thread link........

Crocs... who'd a thunk you would see that in an article about Crocs?

Its a horrible time when things like these are designated a premium product.

Crocs are absolutely stupid. I get really annoyed when I see a 'Crocs family outing'....Parents and kiddies all sporting their Crocs!

Their offices & plant are right across the road from me...funny how a couple years ago they all thought they walked on water, and now....*POOF*....from champs to chumps.

I'm sure their new CEO and his $1M pay package will turn things around....

There's a great site on Facebook:

"I Dont care How Comfortable Crocs Are, You Look Like A Dumbass."

Exactly. These "shoes" are cheap and ugly. Why on earth would they be considered a "premium" product!

I question their employment practices...we ran a late-night call at their warehouse a couple years ago for 'smell of smoke'. We got on scene and nobody working the graveyard shift at the warehouse spoke a lick of English, if you catch my drift...

The whole place smelled of polymers & urethane...I'm sure that's a healthy work environment!

I bought a couple of pairs of the knockoffs from Walmart. Cut off the top and glued the outer soles to a couple of pairs of boots I dearly love but wore out. A little messy and shoe goo is hidious smelling but it works. I can't imagine encasing my feet in plastic in the summer. Give me open leather sandles....

As far as I can tell the knockoffs look the same. They look like they sell. I'll be those addicted to Crocs who can't afford them will find their fix. But they are still ugly.

Now with other shoes, say premium type boots, the money IS worth it. A pair for 30 dollars that is cheap and will fall apart in a year vs a pair thats 90 dollars that will still be wearable and even more comfortable in ten... so some of these custom products may go on. But cheap plastic shoes? naw...

Primium, that's funny. It's obvious their heads are swelled more than their profits.

They are way too arrogant saying it is the economy that is crimping their sales. How long did they think people were going to go on spending $30 for a fad that is on it's way out? It was a fad, like the poodle skirt. Now it's gone. Too bad for them. I know I won't lose any sleep over it.

Hey Crocs are great if you have to walk in wet environments. They are great for disneyworld in the summer in FL when it rains everyday. it beats walking in wet gymshoes for the remainder of the day. AND they are great in the garden, just hose them off. I like mine, they have a time and a place. Just like flip-flops, that some people wear way too often, which is a trend which needs to get sidelined too.

Best pair of loafers I ever had cost me 'bout 100 bucks..in 1999 dollars, so I have no idea what they are worth in today's dollars. Great pair of shoes...Polo, by Ralph Lauren.
