Well if they are real and Italy gets to keep 40% as a finders fee, we should all buy Italian currency because they are about to pay off there entire national debt in one fell swoop!
BGloomberg updated the story, here is the link. Could this be some sort of a payoff to North Korea to tone down the whole nuke issue? China or Russia dumping US debt, but why in such a clandestine, and obviously unprofessional manner? And why is there STILL no US media coverage? This one sure IS strange!
My understanding is that China (and Russia, Japan, Singapore, Brazil, etc) all have tons of U.S. treasuries that they'd like to get rid of. The reason they don't, is because no side wants to trigger a mass sell-off, since they cannot rid themselves of all their treasuries at once..
My first impression is that selling $100B + to the Europeans on the sly might be them (China, Russia, Japan, etC) trying to unload them in a black market. Or of course they could be fake. Who would buy that much? That is a ridiculous amount of money.
if you were trying to pass off forgeries why would you print such high denominations. wouldn't that draw even more scrutiny? whether they are real or not, somebody ratted them out to the italians and it should be an interesting process to find out who and why.

There are some shenanigans afoot. This was either done to screw somebody or somebody is screwing somebody and got caught. And by somebody I mean governments.
This could lead to a story thats huge.
I am inclined to think this was an oil for weapons scam because they are the only things worth that much money.
