I would like to hear from anyone who has been hurt from the bankruptcy reform law passed just prior to the recession.

Are you talking about the bill that Bush signed into law back in 2005?

Hmmm...seems funny, doesn't it? They try to make bankruptcy as difficult as possible, right before they go on a wild, wild greed spree designed to get as many folks as possible in debt up to their necks! I always knew there was something I loved about those banksters!

Now we're seeing the result of their shananigans. From the news I get, not too many people are having trouble filing bankruptcy. They're having trouble staying OUT of bankruptcy court!

I don't think anyone is having problems filing them. I have 2 friends that racked up debt and then filed. Had no issues at all.

I know someone who had to make sure she didn't work over 30 hours a week for six months straight because if she would have then she would have made too much money to file for chapter 7, and she would have had to go chapter 11. She doesn't even own a house, so that is crazy. She was lucky enough to have a very flexible job that worked around it. Of course they thought she needed to be home to help out a sick family member, didn'tknow that she was trying to file bankruptcy.

When I filed in 07 I had to take 2 class's on line and thought I might learn something. But to me it was a scam and I had to pay 75.00 for each test and just answer some questions and my lawyer sent into state and paid only 4300.00 to file. Took quite a while to make payments until she would file.
