Ive been getting warrants delivered on my door for about 5 years now for the swarm of felons that lived in my house before I did. There isnt much of a way to stop it. The person they are looking for is probably still using your address, which is probably why the cops think its an active, correct and current address for him.

You're lucky he was not a sex offender---you'd have a sign on your front lawn that it would be impossible to get rid of.

He could still be using your address as a pickup point. Basically, they say they live there, mail gets delivered there, packages, etc. under a false identity. Many credit card scammers do this to order stuff online.

That happened to me years ago. Process servers, Deputies, State Troopers, assorted friends would all show up. I started to just keep my driver's license near the door and show it when I answered. Should have known something was hinky when we had to go in person to the electric company with ID and the lease to have the power turned on (it was off). Turned out the owner owed about $14K in electric charges between not paying the bills and bootlegging the connection when it was shut off originally.
