Your bill doesn't show the date your payments are received? I really don't see how you can get out of this. The utility company did nothing wrong. The bill payment company will say that they did nothing wrong.

Edit: I see your utility did the right thing and helped you out of your jam.

Without commenting on the cited issue, which seems to be resolved, a heads-up for anyone who pays via check or has a bank send a physical check: We recently found that a lot of our payments were getting received later than what was expected. When one deposit wasn't recorded for well over a week, I contacted the local postmaster. I was informed that the post office had just changed the major distribution point from Huntsville to Birmingham and that she knew that there were going to be problems until all the kinks were worked out. Later that week I got a check from someone in Birmingham. It had a Montgomery postmark. <sigh>

The bottom line is that depending on the post office for 3 day delivery of first class mail is no longer a sure thing. I expect that will continue to get worse.
