I am wondering what software to use online so that I can get any tax refund automatically deposited into my checking account. I would be filing as "separated", and I have a son who currently does not live with me. My income last year was very low ($5-7k as I only found a job after June 2009). I have no other income from things like investments, etc. Any advice?
I always like to download the program to my computer vs the online software, I've used H&R now for the second year and prefer them over turbo tax but it really doesn't matter. You still have plenty of time to do your taxes. That being said if you don't have any deductions you can do the turbo tax free one, it's basically a 1040EZ form. Shouldn't take you more than half an hour.
I hope you have filed your taxes on time. If not, you can always apply for an extension...of course penalties do apply for late filing without the necessary extension. If you still need more info on online filing check out tax premier
I wound up filing with H&R Block online. Hopefully I'll get a return as good as they said it would be, then I'll be able to get a vehicle!
Me too. I use them every year. It's nice, because I can take a week to do it if I need to, and I can review everything before I submit to a tax expert. I prefer the online version, because you can talk to a tax expert via a message board.
