You and me both--I just feel lucky that he has her for two years.

The other great thing about great teachers: All they truly need to feel like their life's work is worthwhile is to see progress in their children and kind words of thanks from the parents.

Good teachers provide a service beyond payment. They could obtain a better paying job with the skills needed to really teach well. But it isn't just that--they make it part of their whole life. How can you ever repay that? Thank for starting this thread. I think I may go write a letter to the high school teacher that made the most impact on me.

You're welcome!

I think that writing to your former teachers is an excellent idea. I'm sure they would love hearing from you.

Good teachers deserve all of the appreciation that we can show them.
