Note to self, take Son & his friends to Hooters for lunch today. But I agree the food there is not very good, past the burgers and wings.
They serve food there?

My son would have found it so cool and I wouldn't have had any problems with that.

No federal law prohibits watching videos about Christmas or reading stories related to Easter.

It's the not-so-subtle promotion of religion. Even if they went into detail on Hanukkah, it would still be problematic as teaching theology.

I think that's pretty tame considering what they can see on MTv or youtube (you know, once they get past that pesky "By clicking on this, you verify you are 18 years or older" so-called verification button) or even on regular tv.

I do think that Hooters t-shirts on a 5 year old cross over the tacky nitwit line 'tho. Just sayin'

Sorry to break the "news" but lunch at hooters is not going to ruin children. Neither will music or the media for that matter. Lack of effective parenting, lack of boundaries, careless parenting (ex. parents being friends instead of parents), is what "ruins" kids.

No it wouldn't. Our 5th grade history curriculum includes religion. They start off with Judaism, then Buddhism, Hinduism, Christianity, Islam and then back to Christianity. They have to be able to compare and contrast the religions. They watch videos about them (one showing the Resurrection), visit the National Cathedral, study the different holidays that go with each... There's no promotion of religion, just teaching tolerance of religions.

I am thinking that maybe it worked logistically, and they probably cut the kids a deal. My daughter used to have a goal of working there. The kids probably had a great time. And loved telling everyone they went to "Hooters" for lunch.

Now, me, as a former teacher...I would not have taken my students there if the lunch was free..well...maybe if it was free....but other wise...I would not have wanted the heat.

Interesting...that would explain the cankles of my last waitress

The only thing objectionable is the name. More is seen at any beach, public pool, or YMCA.
