Anyone experienced being trained for a trade at either an Occupational School or a Trade School like ITT? I am wondering if there is any difference between a public Adult Ed class or Tech School and a private school like ITT to learn to be a plumber or radiology tech? Looking forward to hearing about your experiences!
I did not go to a tech school. I went to an accredited 4 year school, but got a certification. (aircraft mechanic)
I have heard some stories about tech schools. Just be careful, alot of these places are looking to get your money. They will also spread some crap about the job opportunities that are out there(when there might not really be some), and fluff the numbers. You will see some of them will check how good your credit is.
While there, don't half ass it, bust your ass, to gain all the knowledge you can out of it.
Just like college, don't think it will get you a job. Think of it as a tool to help you get a job. A hammer doesn't give you a birdhouse, but it makes your ability to build a birdhouse alot easier. If that makes sense.
When it comes to automotive programs, look into local community colleges and I would consider getting into a dealership program(they exist)
Ideally, I would look into a job that will get you teamed up with a job if you can.
Alot of schools, the training won't be much different, but the cost will be different. Most places have a certification/license or something, at the end of the day to get that cert/license they have basic requirements that have to be met.

Check the net for ratings on ITT Tech, that should answer your questions on THAT school.
