Hi, I'm 24 this year. I'm from Vietnam. Is there any Community College or Private school in New York that I can apply to continue my education?

Only finish middle school in my country though (Grade 6 - 9).

Thank you for your time and have a nice day.

You might get a better response if you post this in the New York State or New York City forum, since the members who post there know the area well.

I'm from NY. There are many students from Vietnam, China, and other Asian nations that attend community colleges here. I'm not sure how the whole process works, but I think you need a student visa. And to get accepted with the college you want to attend.

To the best of my knowledge you need a high school diploma/GED to get into any college. Contact a local community college and see if they can direct you to someone that offers GED classes so you can pass the GED test.

^This and I believe that you can take your GED through BOCES. Here's information for the BOCES in my area: Onondaga - Cortland - Madison Counties BOCES

GED Test Preparation, GED Test Centers, & Test Schedules :: GED :: ACCES :: NYSED

My friend dropped out of HS and went to college a year later somehow. I don't know the specifics, but he didn't have a GED. Maybe he was working towards it in the college program.

I believe that you can do that at some community colleges. GED - CNY Works - Works for All of Us
