It's not discriminatory towards families with one child. Every family has the same chance of getting the first child into the school.

That is true Ivory, but after the first child, the remaining siblings are granted an automatic spot.

The term unconstitutional applies to statutes and governmental conduct. A rule of an individual charter school cannot be considered unconstitutional.

It is not discriminatory because you don't HAVE to go to school there....

I agree with Ivory that your child has as good of a chance as any other first child of getting into that school. You have to compare apples to apples. Also, the fact that you are considering a law suit over this very well be why your child didn't get into that school. They don't want to, nor do they have to take difficult parents into their programs. Just something to keep in mind down the road.

That's something the family of one child doesn't need to worry about. IMO, it's not discriminatory because each family has the same odds of getting into the school. That one family has more than one child while another only has one is not really relevent as all families face that issue when trying to get into the school in the first place.

That's ridiculous. If you have one child, then when your family's name comes up on the waiting list, your child gets in. If you have two or three or four, it's the same deal: when your name comes up, your family gets in. It doesn't matter how many kids you have, it's by family. Why do you care about how many kids another family has within the school?

I think I was pretty clear from the beginning that families with multiple children are automatically grandfathered into the school, based on the first child getting in. So, that would mean any additional childeren getting in and filling slots of those families that have an only child.

Mulitple Siblings - means if one gets in (by a lottery call) they all get in.

Only Child Family - means the child gets in only if their lottery number is called.
