You have to wonder why, at this point in history, no one at the school was smart enough to say, hey, this is just the kind of thing that will end up in the newspaper and make us look really stupid, so maybe we should rethink it...

Some of the dumbest things they do in school today

Don't do this
Don't do that etc. etc. etc.

Then the child is ...

Three-and-a-half year old Hunter Spanjer, who is deaf, signs his name by crossing his forefinger and index finger and moving his hand up and down.

To his family, friends and those who know the Signing Exact English (S.E.E.) language that the Grand Island, Neb., boy uses, that gesture uniquely means "Hunter Spanjer."

Your right, dumb things they do...

Now, dumb things parents do, lack of discipline, child abuse(mental and physical), drug abuse, leaving the child alone for hours at a time. Allowing the child to have access to things that they shouldn't i.e. alchohol, porn, sex, cigarettes

Now dumb things kids do, lack of respect for authority figures, bomb threats, threats to educators and administration, bringing guns to school, bringing knives to school, bringing and selling drugs on campus.

Now tell me that the school is just overreacting...

Grand Island gets fallout from Nebraska flap - Schools - The Buffalo News

Looks like the wrong school was getting majority of the emails and letters about this story! oops!

The commenter Chuck Godspeed said it best:

"What was striking to us was the almost total lack of civility. When dealing with the Reich, that are most school districts, you can't be civil because to be civil means that you have respect for these clowns. I for one don't."
