I did attend my local community college for 1 year after graduating high school. But the first day of my second year I dropped out.

So I wanted to know when filling out job applications and it has an education section for high school, junior college, college etc.

Should I fill in that I did attend community college for 1 year and dropped out or just leave it out?

What about resumes?

It may be better to leave it off. If you include it, be prepared to answer potential interview questions. Are you still in school? Why did you drop out?

When education is listed employers will look for a degree, if there is none shown they will assume you dropped out and that doesn't look good. Assuming you are applying for jobs with no degree required I'd leave it off. If you are applying for jobs where specific classes you have taken could be considered helpful, just list the classes.

Oh I see what you mean alright then. Yeah a lot of the jobs I was going to apply for were retail based so I doubt they would be looking for college education lol!!!

Having some college sounds better that just having a HS diploma, IMO.

It makes the person sound ambitious for a higher education, rather than just HS being good enough.

If you have ANY plans to return to CC, then I would list as "pursuing AA" or something similar. If you do not have plans, I would think about making some.

Usually there is a space for education with dates. For current college students they would write the name of the college and the date they started until now, i.e. August 25, 2012-present. For you, you would just write Local Community College August 2010 - May 2011, or whatever. No need to mention anything else.

If interviewed, you could always say you dropped out for financial reasons and hope to be able to afford to go back at night if you get the job.

Actually, I like the answer above mine, better.

"Pursuing" is and excellent word choice. Chances are you will finish school, right?! Definitely list your credentials... that includes one year of school.
