I remember seeing it on the news. They had part of it on video. They villianized the teacher and the cop, of course.

A few years ago I was working as a TA in a sped setting and got attacked by a girl with a knife. Never saw her again after that as she was permanently removed from the school and placed in an alternate setting. I was asked if I wanted to press charges and after finding out that if I did she'd go to jail as opposed to getting proper mental health care, I chose not to. Now they have CPI training for all the sped teachers in our area and you have to renew every year. I realized later that with proper CPI training I could probably have averted the knife attack.
