I am not a Norwich grad, but drill over there in an army national guard unit in which several of the cadets there drill with us. I have never specifically asked any of them why they chose Norwich, but as far as the other service academies are concerned the competition is very stiff and they draw nationally. My impression is that the cadets at Norwich are for the most part from New England. Also, Norwich now also has a non-cadet student body as well. Seems like most don't mind going to school there, but the area is not spoken of very favorably.
