trying to get some info regarding how a US High school diploma equates to UK A levels?
Our son did all of his education in the UK until he was 14 and is due to graduate this year.
He is studying 3 AP classes (Statistics,Biology and Earth and Env Sc) in addition to 3 Hons classes this year
I think he will probably end up with a GPA of around 3.8
If a University in the UK is asking for 3 A levels how do they equate what he's done here in the USA?
Will they look upon the AP classes as Equiv to an A level?
It varies by university - and is usually somewhere on their website - but in general passing an AP class with a grade of 4 or 5 is considered A level equivalent. A regular HS diploma is equated to GCSEs (exams taken in the UK at age 16); as far as I'm aware it's only APs that count, not honors.
