Hello All.

I have been trying to figure things out on my own for a while but I feel challenged. Therefore, I am here at this forum to pick on your brains. I figured 1.5 million brains will be better than just one tiny brain.

So here it is.

I am in my 30's, held on to a steady job for 10 years, got advanced degrees (mba, edd) and then the economy took a nose dive. I decided to move out of the US with an offer, which did not pan out. So I am now trying to find better opportunites but don't know where to look. I want to work for universities in an administrative capacity. I can also teach course in Business Administration. I am not a US citizen. I have been looking at job listings on Chronicle and Times Higher Ed, and have interviewed for some postions as well.

I am confused if I should stay in this field and keep looking or shall try my luck in the industry. I just feel so confused. Any guidance would be very helpful. I am willing to relocate to any of these countries: US, Canada, NZ, AUS, Singapore, South Africa, UAE.

I know no one else wants to say it, but if you're not here legally, go back to your homeland and apply legally.

It's not fair to those who follow the rules to have you cut them in line.

You should have stayed quiet. At that education level it is likely the op is legal or would easily become so if hired.

So at a certain education level, it becomes OK to break the law?

Uhh you are the only one suggesting any law was or is to be broken. Where did you pick up this fixation with illegality?

In general highly educated people do not need or want to violate the law and the likely employers do not cooperate.

Again if nothing useful to offer why not keep quiet?

There are a large number of English-language schools in areas of the world that you might want to add to your list. Perhaps one of them might need someone with your combination of skills and experience.
