Ok there must be some English/writing majors on here... I need help with something I'm writing a poem of sorts. What I need to know should I use "A" or "The"?? I'm writing something like this
Who always encouraged me that I could do better.. A/ the teacher.
Who always went the extra mile to make learning fun and interesting... A/ The teacher.
Who impacted my life... A/the teacher.
I'm talking about many teachers in each sentence if that makes a difference.
Since you are talking about multiple teachers, in prose, you would use 'A'. But since this is poetry you have license to use 'The' as well, so either one would be OK. Use what you prefer.
'A' sounds better. But you'll get applause either way LOL.
