"Loose" in the place of "lose" drives me nuts. And if someone has a pre-existing opinion on something, they are "biased," not "bias." I can go on and on...

Momzuki, I imagine you didn't give the school a chance and looked for problems. You sound like a helicopter parent. Did you ever listen to their rationale? My child's school still had "inventive spelling" in 1st grade. I was fine with the approach.
