Well Mr. T is Black. He was just trying to be realistic and it was Halloween.
Sounds more like PC run amuck.

Halloween costumes, particularly those worn at schools, are not realistic. But assuming he was being realistic... he wore a long sleeve shirt, had the wrong hair cut, had no beard, forgot the earrings, and was no where close on the gold chains, with the giant gold crucifixes missing, in particular. Why be "realistic" with skin color and little else of the costume?

Blackface is offensive. The vice-principal should know this and made a mistake wearing the costume. That said, this is a mistake that can be fixed by a public apology.

For heaven sake's, it's not blackface!

Blackface is when you're making fun of black people by portraying a black stereotype…

Jim Crow -
Coon
Mammy (Her face is similar to Aunt Jemima syrup)
Uncle Tom (good, gentle, religious and sober)
Buck (large black man who is interested in white women)
Jezebel
*****ninny (Big, bulging eyes, red lips, wide mouths to eat huge slices of watermelon, unkempt hair)
Mulatto (Biracial person - white & black)

And since when were costumes allowed in schools?

It's a little hard to distinguish between blackface for mockery and blackface for other purposes. The staff at my friend's school wore costumes on Halloween Day. The office workers were M&Ms. They wore colored T-shirts with "m" on them.
