I received the following back from Scholastic:
Thank you for your email. We passed along your comments but wanted to let you know the steps that are being taken in regards to the issue addressed in your email. Scholastic is stopping shipment on this title, revising the map, and going back to reprint. We regret the omission which was in the original version of the book published in Italy and was translated by our company for English language distribution.
Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.

Interesting that no one picked up the incorrect northern border for Jordan, which makes me wonder if Lebanon was omitted too and ignored. There is a lot of physical geography wrong too. I have no idea what that northern lake is, but the Nile Delta goes all the way to the Suez Canal, but does not go that far east below Cairo (of course, Cairo is really in the wrong location too) nor does it extend west as far as the badly out of scale Lake Qaroun and Al Fayyum Lake.
We still laugh (wryly) here in Mississippi about the time that the Weather Channel repeatedly called us the "land mass between New Orleans and Mobile." If you can lose a state you don't want to acknowledge, why not a country?
