According to Homeland Security as, an active shooter is "an individual actively engaged in killing or attempting to kill people in a confined and populated area; in most cases, active shooters use firearm(s) and there is no pattern or method to their selection of victims."

I recently found this video where he shows students what to do if the shooter enters their room. I think it's a great idea.

Do your schools have lockdown drills or active shooter training sessions?

Might as well have zombie preparedness drills, given the realistic odds of an active shooter at any given school.

It isn't appropriate or safe for people, especially teachers/staff, to discuss the safety measures their specific school or schools in general have taken on a public internet forum.

The college where I work at mandates active shooter training for faculty and staff in the form of a mandatory video training session that we have to watch (and complete a quiz on) annually. The video is very good.

Because any security system has holes which can be exploited by someone paying attention.

I'm going to go along with the concerns about exposing schools preparedness training as I think it's most likely that potential shooters do on-line research looking for this kind of information. I, for one, don't want to be the one that supplies it.
