I'd like to know that too. If there is a way to get things into long term memory without homework, I want in on the deal. It is my students who don't do homework who end up failing. I don't see students who do homework failing. I've seen them come close but I haven't had one fail yet. Those who put the work in seem to learn enough to pass the class.

The way I see it the only way we could have no homework would be if students were intrinsically motivated to do whatever amount of work they needed to do at home to move the material from short term memory to long. They'd still do homework just not assigned homework. If someone else knows a better way, please enlighten me.

If you don't want homework, then push for your kids to have an extra 20 minutes class time with small class sizes.

I've got a good idea!

Why don't schools just ban students, then, all problems solved? Then teachers have more time to gripe,, and won't be so overworked chasing down their "problems" like dress codes, etc.
