We had about 8 inches of snow last night on top of the maybe 6 or 7 we had before. The bus was about 5 minutes late. It really depends on where you live. Back east there is alot more traffic so the chance of a wreck is increased. Add to that the residents are not used to driving in snowy conditions. Here, we are used to it. I don't know a family that does not have a 4x4 vehicle. It doesn't make your state wimpy to close down schools with a couple of inches of snow...it just shows a wise decision.

One inch. Haha.
It hasn't snowed here since the 70s. So I believe that even if we get one inch of snow, this city would be a center of chaos.

We got 4" on Sunday. School was closed on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Some schools were even closed today (Thursday).

Where I live we seldom get snow but if it does the schools may remain open but most just close for that day.

BS !
Well, you should believe it. We do not have snow days in Montana, period. I'm 37 years old, all 17 years of my education took place here in Montana (K-16/bachelor's degree). Montana does not have school days! That's a fact, Jack! 10 inches, 20 inches, 30 inches. It doesn't matter, we don't have them. If we get a good 6+ inches and the roads are bad and the buses are running late and parents are showing up an hour or more late with their kiddos, the school will excuse all absences and tardies no questions asked, maybe not take attendance till lunch time, that sort of thing... but the schools DO NOT CLOSE!

Sometimes people from other states move here and after one winter they move away and never come back. LOL! That's the way we like it!

It varies. If the plows have had ample time to clear the roads, we have school, regardless of how much snow fell.
