The above is just a smattering.
I agree with you on the view many have about teachers. I also doubt highly that teachers in NC would strike over this issue.

Niw, as far as firing them all in a heartbeat should they all decide to strike over something, I look to West Virginia as an example where that did not happen. It looks like NC has about 80,000 public school teachers in 100 districts. https://legislative.ncpublicschools....-fastfacts.pdf

I think I said at the time that WV was somewhat of an outlier. It has a long history of unions, UMW and USW, so there's more sympathy for job actions, even by teachers, there than there would be in NC.
