Wow! This is more proof, that the school was using you to scam the system. Ask CPS to put that in writing. You need to gather documents, so you can tell the people hassling you for loan repayment that you never signed for any loans. Document, document, document your side of the story.

You have a pretty solid case, here, OP. I'm only wondering, why did you choose a for-profit school, out of all the choices for FREE COLLEGE EDUCATION that you had available? Did you have lousy grades in school? That's what CC's are for: to bring up your grades, and then apply to transfer to a 4-year school. Sorry, it's just puzzling, that's all.

Get a lawyer.............Your FASA needs to be returned and if so just register and try and transfer your FASA to that college.

Go to that college you want to go to and see if there FASA office could help you. Otherwise find the main FASA office in your area.

If it is active then you should be able to transfer to a college you are presenting to take classes from

I've been checking in on this to hear back from the OP. I'm glad she came back. Career Point is a notorious for profit school in the area I'm assuming OP lives. Child Protective Services does offer all those extras that OP is getting, but Career Point and many of the schools like it thrive on low income uninformed students who think that the school offers an easy way to get a "career" when in actuality many of the "careers" you end up making $14-15 an hour tops. Career Point has since declared bankruptcy. I would encourage you to do some research on for profit schools and the type of relief that is available (and may not be at some point because the DoE is a hot mess with Betsey de Vos). https://www.nerdwallet.com/blog/loan...olleges-close/
