Yep. It's official. The takers outnumber the makers, and the split is getting worse.

Ah the classic “it’s inevitable” claim.

Yup, we heard that one before.

If you took out 20K in student loans over the course of 4 years in college - that's $5,000/yr that you took out.

You could have worked PT flipping burgers and easily earned 5K/yr and graduated debt free, instead. But you opted not to do that for whatever reason. Eh, maybe that was a dumb decision.

if Biden is going to try another "workaround" instead of going through Congress he's dumber than I thought.

He's just a demented, corrupt con artist looking to buy votes with empty promises.

Yu dont understand, the whole idea of student loan is not to flip burger part time while in school ,but to pay back after graduation with a higher paying job,

The more realistic scenario for the majority of students is BOTH. They worked part time during college, as well as during the summer, and still had to take out loans. I'm totally against Biden's vote buying plan but we do need to have a realistic discussion on college costs in this country. Unfortunately, this whole Biden scheme has tossed a monkey wrench into the real discussion that needs to happen.

Right. And everyone who takes those loans out has made the deliberate decision to buy now, pay later.

They receive their educations and then when it comes time to pay those loans back they don't wanna do it.

Bottom line is, you don't take out a student loan if you don't want to pay it back. Not paying it back is stealing.

If you want to graduate debt free, put on the uniform and start flipping them burgers. Pay as you go.

There is no reason that a college graduate can not pay back 10-20K worth of their own student loan debt.

They may not want to do it, but they can do it.

You may want to reread what I wrote. I didn't say anything about not paying back debt. I said the cost of college was so high that many students had to both work and take on debt while in school. Tuition was significantly lower when so many of us were in school. Such that you could work over the summer and make enough to pay tuition for the year. Now you can't.

What I said was this whole Biden tuition thing is a distraction from the real issue which is the cost of college.
