I'm not sure how this happened, but there are now multiple posts in this forum that are ones that I've seen in the Politics and other controversies forum. We're not doing that here. Mostly because, I don't have the bandwidth to admin it, or the BS comments that have to be untangled from any actual conversation. So if you want to argue about how CRT is being taught in schools or that DEI is really some conspiracy, please do so in this forum://www.city-data.com/forum/polit...controversies/

Unfortunately many of the education issues today are rooted in politics. Which is really no different than it's ever been.
Overall there's really never been a "Golden Age" of education. Teachers have always been thought of as "overpaid" or "not the brightest" and there have always been arguments over what should be taught and when.
We read The Diary of Anne Frank in 8th Grade and there were parents who demanded their kids get alternate assignments. That was the 1967-68 school year.
