Hundreds of children are corporally punished in Robeson County each year, and despite the fact that over one thousand parents have signed a petition asking for the abuse to end, no action has been taken.
The local board of education says it would be best to take this up with the General Assembly, however, the members of the General Assembly say this is an issue for local control.
