WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Michelle Rhee says she runs at 100 miles per hour. As the chancellor of one of the nation's lowest-performing school districts, she says she has no choice -- too much bureaucracy to cut through, too many problems to fix after decades of neglect.
Wow! I can see why some of the teachers might be a bit upset at her. To think, making them live up to high standards and put the kids first in the school setting. (Yes that last is said sarcastically.) I do know the vast majority of teachers are there for the kids, but those that are not, need to get the boot and it sounds like this lady is somebody who will weed out the bad and reward the good. Bravo for her.
Bydand = correct. As a teacher who cares about the kids, my biggest gripe about many schools in our country is that the kids (especially the more difficult ones) have been written off. They are usually the ones who need us most. If I lived closer, my resume would have been sent to HR for the DC school system.
