We have a fee based after school program. There are daycares that pick kids up, and there is the Boys and Girls club in my area that does after school programs.

Also, if a teacher is leaving at 3, it is because she has been there since 6:30 in the morning. That is an 8.5 hour day. It is time to go home then.

Can you explain this? I'm just curious. Our parents are only asked to come in for parent-teacher night or day twice a year. If the child is in danger of being held over, they are asked to come in one additional time. Other than that, the parents are not really required to be in the school very often. If it is impossible for a parent to make it, conferences can be done over the phone. I believe that parents are also required to be in IEP meetings. One would think that a parent would want to be in a meeting if their child needs additional services.

Of course parents are always welcome to the monthly performances or trips, but it is not mandated.
