Whilst that's true, there aren't necessarily that many Spanish speakers in every job. My ex was HIGHLY regarded for the fact that she was fluent in Spanish. She was the translator of the office. My classmate is also considered a translator for the entire elementary school. "What? This kid ONLY speaks Spanish? Where's Ms. __________?!?!"

Probably not.

I had a Japanse girl friend who informed me that most of the folks you see working in Sushi places are Chinese.

In any case, if the girl has a few years of Japanese under her belt and enjoys it, why not stick with it?
