It's that I hardly ever have cash on me. I've never been a big cash carrier. So it's like every other day that my wife comes and says, "Hey, you got $3 for the halloween party?" "Uh...nope."

I'm sure in the course of the school year we will have shelled out $100 (maybe more) for each kid on this misc stuff. You know what I'd like to see? I'd like a misc expense account at school that you can feed money to electronically so there isn't a need for coming up with cash all the time. They already do this with the lunch money accounts. Why not do it for this other stuff too?
While I would just as soon chime in with my two cents about HS fees, let's get back to the OP's gripe about pre-school charges. Anyone that wants to can start another topic about High School surcharges.

Thanks, toobusytoday. It seems to me the pre-school charges should include all the fees for field trips, parties, etc.
