Has anybody ever participated? I am wondering how it turns out in the long run. Do the children really pick up on writing all those characters at the same pace they would be writing words? Or is their writing (in Chinese) going to be somewhat delayed compared to what a peer would be writing? I imagine that english vocaulary will be stunted at least initially.
I know it is difficult to compare, as children in the immersion program are obviously going to get such an advantage in the language, I'm just trying to understand the trade off.
