Actually difficult classes in the philosophy department, who knew?

Actually it's more computer science-ish than philosophical, but it's still fascinating, useful, and difficult.

Has anybody taken this course? Thoughts on your experience?

I think it is interesting that you are sitting in on a class. I wonder how often that happens - someone local just walks in and hangs out during the class while not enrolled...

It sounds like quite a bit of fun really. I used to live in a college town. Family members of University employees and seniors could sit in any class that wasn't full. Hell, I'd wish that I could do that at the local high school. I'd do the homework, ask informed questions and everyone else in class would hate me.

No, but I live near a university and have no life so I think that taking a class might be something I should look into.

Probably near nothing. You are not enrolled, the security boys come take you away for trespassing.

If I had no life, I would go find me one instead of wasting time sitting in some useless WackBlab class.

Yeah, what kind of dummy sits around taking the most intellectually difficult challenges he can find head-on as brain exercise?

I should just go to church instead.

Metalogic is usually what they call a course in Mathematical logic in the Philosophy department. Its essentially the same class with a bit different focus.

The course without context may appear a bit pointless though. But some of the results of Metalogic are some of the most fascinating in Mathematics/Philosophy.

Anyhow, never figured I'd hear about metalogic on this forum.
