I think property taxes will go up because they use any excuse to raise them, I think wages are going up simply because the federal minimum wage is going up.

Are any housing areas being built on Fort Bliss east of Railroad Drive next to Northeast? I just saw something on the EPISD website saying that they've started the process of acquiring the land for the new high school in Northeast and a new elementary school (provisionally called E-17) for Fort Bliss, which they say is in Northeast. Not the east side, in the area around Loop 375 north of Montana, where Ozzman said there are archaeological sites.

Okay, I think I get it now. EPISD's Northeast Region (from their website) seems to be defined as the Andress, Chapin and Irvin feeder patterns. They might be saying it's in Northeast because it'll be in Chapin's feeder pattern (although it might be so far east it'll be more like on the East Side and its fifth-graders will go on to sixth grade at Ross or MacArthur).

I looked at the board minutes on the EPISD website. It looks like the new elementary school will be, not on Fort Bliss, but in Far Northeast, around the eastern end of Marcus Uribe Drive just northwest of McCombs and the Patriot Freeway.

That makes sense. There are a ton of new neighborhoods out there. Mesquite Hills off of 54 is booming.

Yeah, and I thought they might have problems building on Fort Bliss, with all those archaeological sites just east of the airport. They could build housing areas between Railroad Drive and Biggs but I'm not sure they would want to.
