As Alfred E. Neuman (Mad Mag.) always says; "What - me worry???"

After all, people in El Paso are Texans - first and foremost, and nobody intimidates real Texans - native or adopted.

No because even in Juarez, almost all the violence is targetted. If you're not involved, the cartels have no reason to hunt you down. I do believe there is spillover but it's also targetted and it would be foolish for anyone to believe that the cartels can't figure out they're over here now.

I do think violence in general will increase in El Paso including street crimes and people in El Paso may have to start locking their doors at night.

As a recent Ft. Bliss General was quoted...why would they mess up a good thing an f*c* with the US Army. In about five minutes every border entry in this region would be shut tight virtually eliminating the cartel pipeline to cash, weapons and money laundering in ELP. We've lived here for a little over a year and there is so much protection here that we have no idea exists that there's no wonder why its the safest city of its size in the US.

Kudos to EPPD, El Paso County Sheriffs, and all the local law enforcement agencies.

Sometimes though in El Paso, you have to be careful about answering the phone because you can simply disappear.

So far there is no reason to believe it's gang related vs a domestic situation. His wife disappeared after being interviewed by police.

And there was the murder of the 4 year old apparently by his own mother.

Really almost no random killings but I suppose that's the case in most other places also.

Interesting update on the man who just disappeared.

Socorro Mechanic Still Missing | KTSM News Channel 9

Apparently the wife is cooperating and being questioned doesn't make you the number one suspect.

"We've put information into all of the ports of entry that are here locally in El Paso. We're eventually going to ask for assistance from other agencies to try and locate this person," de Anda said.

The ports of entry......hmmm.. And he could have left against his will. It happens.
