That is great but don't get too excited. It's good news but it will probably similar to cinemarks XD screen.

Still good news. This will add revenue to El Paso. Construction, theater employees, etc..

Cinemark recently announced that Cinemark West will be getting an XD screen.

Also, Bassett Premier Cinema already has DBox seats installed. Lets not forget to support things that are already in town.

Well, from what I understand, IMAX movies are very expensive to produce--and even after they're made, they're a lot more expensive to even show.

I don't remember when, but I read that somewhere about the IMAX here in Alamogordo. The ticket prices ($6) aren't high here, though. They are mostly documentaries that run about 40-45 minutes.

Traditional films are shown on IMAX screens now. Their budget isn't really an issue. You pay more when you see a movie on IMAX or XD. IMAX is just more expensive.

Those IMAX screens differ from the kind we have in Alamogordo. The one in Alamogordo screens documentaries and doesn't show Hollywood or mainstream movies.
