We are headed to bliss at the end of the summer. We need to find a good location for our two young kids. Good school districts, etc. I'm getting all kinds of contradictory information thus far & since we have never been there, I have no one left to turn to for advice.
The 1st reaction I usually get, when telling people where we are headed, is a cringe then they all feel it is highly important to remind me how close Juarez Mexico is to El Paso. . . Needless to say, I'm trying hard to be open minded about this and see the silver lining, but its getting difficult. Any encouraging words? lol

Yes - El Paso is quite safe and even cartel violence is targetted. The cartel doesn't go after random innocent people. What spillover there has been has all been against very specific targets, individuals who tried to scam their cartel masters. The cartels gain nothing by going after completely innocent people.
Traffic is what's getting to be bad here.
I'd check out the SAT scores of the high school students plus how many students bothered to take the SAT and go from there as far as the schools and the quality of education.
