A friend told me he noticed that the Pancho's on McRae is open or opening. Has anyone else seen it? I hope so; it was always a nice change-up.

So Pancho's Mexican Buffet, which was started in El Paso, is coming back to town, huh? Good.

Apparently this is not exactly the case. The restaurant is a buffet, but it is called "Que Panchos". Oh, well. I wish them the best of luck.

OMG, I miss that place! I loved it. I loved the food (aside from there, I've only been able to get fideo at Mexican people's homes, never found a restaurant that served it), the variety, the guac, the tortilleria, the price, the decor and the warm comfy ambiance.
Does anyone know why it went out of business in the first place??

BTW, with all the Chinese buffets, you'd think there'd be more Mexican buffets around. There are countless Mexican restaurants here, but I can't find them in a buffet format.

Pancho's is still very much in business but just not in El Paso. I thought I would get to "raise the flag" here but Pancho's had already left.

That place has had nothing but failures since Panchos closed. Same thing with that restaurant/bar across the street from Alehouse & Chilis on Lee Trevino. Be surprised if anything survives either of those two cursed places.

I remember going to Pancho's on McRae as a kid with my grandfather. I loved the ambiance and have lot's of great memories there. We used to watch the glass blower near the restaurant exit work his magic with the glass. You just don't find places like that these days.

I've been to Taco Real on Airway, and they have a pretty good buffet. Not sure if it's every day of the week though.

I hear that La Tapatia on Old Country Drive (in Ysleta) has a pretty good weekday buffet, but I'm guessing a smaller selection.
