I respectfully do not understand how living here for a certain number of years means that a children’s hospital should be built. Further more, I do not comprehend why children need a building that stands apart from a hospital which also cares for those who are old enough to vote, pay taxes, or go to war. Should they have superior care than the afore mentioned? And just because one can afford to frivolously throw away money doesn’t me that one should. I would never have the means I have now making irrational decisions for “THE CHILDREN”. Are the wards in other hospitals to full to accommodate patients under 18? Like Canada, whose “idolized” socialized health care has to send their mother-to-be to the U.S to deliver there babies, do we need more “assistance” from big brother? It is not only frivolous or irrational to throw our hard earned tax dollars to such an unneeded project, but will hurt “the children” of working families that need that extra few bucks and the rest of the misspent taxes that are being tossed aside by a government that neither worked nor sweated for those earnings. This did not get my vote.

Well said MoonMan. I think there is a bunch more that are going to say NO!!! I really can't comprehend why any hard working El Pasoan would find a way to rationalize getting taxed more regardless of the venture. Private money is were this should be funded from and if there was a need and profit envolved it would have happened by now.

A new hospital is getting ready to open off the loop as well. We do need more hospitals.

Clashman.. you know why I am angry with the new hospitals location.. because that was originally going to be built in the North East where we need it more than the East Side does.. they have plenty of hospitals.

The location is just fine where it is now, however I do agree that NE El Paso should have had a full service hospital running in that part of town, but not a Childrens hospital.

Anyway I'm glad that a great percentage of intelligent El Pasoans are siding with their childrens needs, see you next Wednesday after the elections and hopefully people will be a better frame of mind.

Good point Muhnay. The NE needs alot of services. It's unfortunate that it doesn't get the representation it needs.

Off the topic but the Northeast view of the mountain is the prettiest in town.

OT - your right, the NE view is the best. On that subject sorta.. why do you think our highway they just built over here is all cream colored and plain while the East and West side have palm trees and other plantings, and red stone work etc? Why is the North East always getting the shaft?

Well I voted early today. I voted for the Children's hospital, but I also voted for the tax deduction..

Default Voting Yes!!

Providence is too crowded. Their case managment pushes ill children out the door too fast due to not enough beds. We need a children's hospital. We need better specialists and better care for our kids. Providence is just afraid that if another one is built they will lose quite a few patients. To them it's all about the mighty dollar and not patient care.

I hope people aren't surprised when they find out there aren't enough children to keep the doctors busy and those physicians who moved here (if any) end up leaving again and leave El Pasoans with a debt and an unused hospital
