Or do you have to cross over into Mexico to spend them?

To entice Mexican shoppers, accepting pesos was all the rage in 2006/2007'ish. I have no idea who does anymore. There used to be big signs at Walmart, Diamond Shamrock, Pizza Patron, stating they accept pesos.

Just about everywhere I would think.

Probably the vending machines don't but I'm not sure about that.

Why are you implying that if you are not certain?

I understand you have an agenda and are dead set in getting your "views" across but this is a ridiculous statement - even by your standards.

Again, if you don't know, why are you posting? Other than to paint the picture you are constantly trying to paint. Are you so sheltered that you have not come across a vending machine? And no, they do not take pesos.

Its good to want to be helpful, although I agree if one "doesnt know" then they shouldnt be posting as it just clutters the board and/or creates confusion.

Restated, the only posts in response to, where to spend Mexican Pesos IN El Paso, should be from those who know. However, if XYZ accepted Mexican Pesos in the past, that can be helpful if the post states how long ago, as that could be a useful lead.

To help your situation there are also plenty of money exchange houses on this side of the border. I don't think you will be happy with the exchange rate, but it evens out with the stores exchange rate.

I learned it right here at City Data.

HIGH!Lonesome

Most El Paso businesses have been accepting pesos since the begining of time, it is those that dont accept the color of the skin that have issues with what ever comes from south of the border, currency is just what it is, Europe accepts the green back why cant the US accept the peso?
El Paso has been a border city since the border was placed at it's feet, in other words El Paso was there before the border so the best deal with dealing with anything from Mexico when one dont like what comes from the South is move away and move far far away, maybe somewhere where the sun dont shine all year round that even the Mexican radio waves dont reach that far.

It's been discussed on this very same forum before -- and I think the posters were right. I see people using pesos often -- grocery stores, certainly the mall stores.

Mall stores? Are you claiming you have seen department stores in Cielo Vista or Sunland Park accept pesos?
