I am relocating to El Paso TX in a weeks time and am looking for a place to rent. I am really interested in the new community being built, called the Cottages at Edgemere at the corner of Edgemere Blvd and N Zaragosa Rd. Wonder if anyone lives at the apt complex or around the area?? Any suggestions, comments on it?? How is the area like? Is it safe? Thanks for helping out!

Edgemere and N Zaragosa are as far east as you can get. It's a new and developing part of town.

Default Nice Area

New to El Paso as well and live on the far Eastside. We really like it here, that's including El Paso as a whole! So far, people are really nice and weather is great compared to where we are from.

I don't live around that area -- the East Side is rapidly growing, a lot of it is very new. That area should be pretty convenient to shopping and the airport. It should be as safe as anywhere else in El Paso, the violent crime rate in El Paso is fairly low -- and most of the violent crime is domestic violence, bar fights at certain bars, and some gang violence, normal people aren't really affected. You would really not have to be afraid if for example your car were to break down in the middle of the night and you had to get out and walk -- in any neighborhood. It might not be smart to walk around in the middle of the night in some neighborhoods, but you wouldn't generally need to be afraid if you had to do so.

I like how that area is toward the edge of the city but that's because I like to see wide open space.
