This is the fifth or sixth positive report to come out of the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, and Chicago newspapers this past year. I'm not sure that has ever happened before. Perception does change reality at some point...

Here's another new article about the ballpark and bond projects from Bloomberg.

Win or Lose El Paso Guarantees Baseball Bondholders: Muni Credit - Bloomberg

This article does reveal a little info about the future arena in downtown:

Voters also passed $473 million in borrowings for other projects, including a $180 million arena that officials want to use for minor-league hockey and basketball. It won’t be built for at least five years, Studer said.

Don't forget the other top rankings....
El Paso has been ranked third among Men's Health Magazine's "America's Fattest Cities."
The magazine ranked cities based on percentage of people who are overweight, the percentage of of people with Type 2 Diabetes, among other factors.

And:
A Forbes magazine report lists El Paso as the fourth-worst city in the nation for college graduate salaries.

Default Right direction...

Texas is kicking but nation wide, if not world wide, and El Paso should also share in that. All great cities started where there was no city, so people need to give it time; if El Paso continues to invest in itself like it has recently, it will be a place people would like to spend more time in rather than travel through, and residents will have much more options when it comes to being entertained, or enjoying life.

It's all about perception, and little or nothing to do with reality.

Statistics say El Paso is safe but we shouldn't believe them. Corruption!

The stadium is getting a lot of good pub nationwide but don't believe that either. Perception is not reality!

But if a transplant says they hear too much Spanish here, take that to the bank!!! El Paso being North Juarez and all.
