I know attitudes toward fitness have improved in El Paso, but I still see too many people driving around in their "hulked" up vehicles ready to run bicyclists and joggers off the road. At least more and more bike trails are being constructed, but we need more long distance routes that connect and keep people from putting their lives at stake when they choose to get an outdoors, cardiovascular workout.

So the rankings are partially based on check-in's from narcissistic Facebook users who think everyone else cares when they are going to the gym? Yeah, that doesn't sound legit to me, but based on my Facebook activity page I definitely see a lot of gym check-ins. El Paso has a big lifting culture for sure, which means a lot of bros who go to the gym to see who can do the most bench presses while maxing out, but not so much about cardiovascular exercise, nutritious eating or general healthy lifestyle.

I think Mountain Biking is getting bigger than road biking and why not we got a giant play ground right in the middle of the city (Franklin Mountains). Check out Chuck Heinrich park in the evenings Tuesday and Sundays by the trail head and you'll see what I mean. Any what got us the ranking was Cross Fit and I believe it Cross Fit is like a wild fire around here.
