ever notice all the call centers we have in el paso ,its because of all the bilingual people here next time you need to call customer service hit the spanish line 9 out of 10 times you will get someone here thats fluent in english and spanish and much nicer hell i got one of my cousins once

Well EP needs more then call centers to get out of the mediocrity it's in.

i was looking at the sunday paper and i saw that alot of these call centers are offering $9-10 an hour i dont know what the min wage is, but that's not to bad it's not that great but it's more than min does anyone know if they pay more for speaking spanish i know in colorado you get an extra $2hr if you do

el borracho.. you can only get those jobs if you speak Spanish. And for El Paso its a pretty darn good wage... but as cost of living is rising here, its barley survivor wages.

I dont know how they stay in business. I just hang up if there is a wait on the house phone. All our friends know our cell phone. We know everytime the house phone rings it's from am telemarketer. The only reason I keep the land line is that I call overseas.

Not too bad These call centers usually don't have a high criteria for hiring. A high school diploma or GED will get you the job. All you have to do is show up every day and if possible have a reliable car that gets you there. Other than that no big deal. Even if you speak Spanish, in general it will not make a big difference. You wake up speaking spanish every morning, right? If you need it or not. OK maybe you get an extra 2 $. Big deal. This would be a great job for a college kid. Who as an adult can really live on $ 9-12/hour?

We need better jobs than that. A lot better.

sorry you wont get transferred to india, pressing the spainsh option, but youll get transferred to mexico, time warner opened a call cnter in mexico city recently.
