There are so many beautiful handicrafts and artisan made items from Mexico, but we don't have a good retail source for them here, as far as I know. I wish we did -- yes, you can find stuff here and there, but not the best stuff, and not in a central location. I'm no longer comfortable traveling into Mexico, and boy do I miss it!

VioletWest, El Paso Saddleblanket has a wide assortment of Mexican crafts, etc... They might be a bit pricier, but readily available.

I've been to El Paso Saddleblanket many times and most (if not all) is cheap import goods. Mexico has some wonderful, real artisans. There's better stuff out there.

If you don't mind buying online, you might want to try the Novica website, NOVICA - Home Decor, Jewelry & Gifts by Talented Artisans Worldwide.

Just click on "Regions" to find all things "Mexico". There is also some great Central American stuff. The prices aren't cheap, but they seem fair enough for what you get, and everything is Fair Trade.
