A great option is Senor Fish off of I-25 and Viscount on El Paso's east side. Good stuff.

That reminds me of another place that can be good if someone is looking for more authentic (mom-and-pop) -- Good Coffee. There's a couple in Central around Montana St. Nothing fancy -- but the food has been good when I've been to them.

I've always wondered about that place.. it's right across the street from Mi Tierra cafe, which is also really good. Not really mexican food, per se, but an eclectic mix of cafe style food with latin/american/italian flavors. Its better than I describe..

I love Tacos Ay Cocula and Santa Cecilia on Lee Trevino, i cant eat it too often though, cuz its really greasy, but i love the carnitas and especially the queso fundido, they also sell "red beer", michelada with Clamato, mmmm mmmm good, my mouth is watering just thinking about it, the burritos at Rafas are good too, way better than "Bonnys Wraps" also "La Poblanita" on Airway had probably the best burritos in El Paso!!

It's inexpensive -- and probably close to what many eateries in Mexico are like. When I went to one of them the waitress didn't speak English and I'm not sure anyone did -- which makes it seem like it is pretty authentic Mexican -- maybe not Tex-Mex or New Mexico.

Default Best Mexican food is El Rancho Escondido

El Rancho Escondido reopeded on September 18, 2007. The Menu is back with some added attractions. The food is the best it has ever been. The Rib Eye Steak Tampequena is to die for. Grilled over and open flame perfectly tender topped with Anihiem mild green chili, grilled white onions, and melted white chedder. Mouth water delicious.

Wow, asking what the best Mexican restaurant is in El Paso is like going to Italy and asking if there is any good pasta... I am going to bookmark this thread for when I visit!
