Your most welcome ms. peggydavis and those are some of the pictures I was talking about, when you have a chance try to see all the pictures on the flickr el paso pool website, I never thought myself that El Paso was so pituresque and not to mention all the native wildlife and the migrating birds, it's amazing.

It's excellent for bird watching. Someday if I get more time I might like to do some of that. You get so many kinds of birds passing through here, big migrating flocks. Plus there is a large variety of birds that stay here. I wish I knew more about them.

There is a lot of wildlife -- but I don't know how much longer because with the housing development, the wildlife areas are coming to an end.

I've seen beavers, raccoons, deer, foxes, coyotes, blue herons, robins, all kinds of hummingbirds, ducks, geese, antelopes, owls, hawks, vultures here. I've only seen one rattlesnake and several other snakes.

I do a lot of birdwatching, as many birds migrate through my area. I have a couple of bird books that I try to look them up and identify them.

El Paso is in the desert so most people probably think of only lizards and vultures there. The wetlands and the river make it kind of an oasis, I imagine.

For awhile, the El paso Zoo tried to get a hawkwatch program going whereby we count the different hawks that migrate through here. We have quite a number of migratory hawks to include Swainsons Hawks, Harris's Hawks, Zone tailed Hawks, Ferruginous Hawks, Sharp Shinned Hawks, Red Tails and perregrine falcons. We have others but I have not seen them. go up on the tram to the top of the mountains in Spring and Fall and you will see quite a few of them riding the currents below you and at eye level.

a lot of people here don't think we have good bird watching when in fact we do. Heck, you can see migratory shore birds at Heritage park. Its wild.
